SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – Just days before Briar Cliff track coach and Great Britain Olympian Ben Jefferies is set to depart for team camp, he took some time to give back to the youth in Sioux City.

The England native stopped by the Boys and Girls Club of Siouxland to spend time with the children, meeting the youth and sharing his story.

Remembering his time as a child growing up, Jefferies spoke on some of his memories looking up to those in front of him, jumping at the opportunity to pay it forward in a place he now calls his home.

“I remember back when I was that age, you meet some of those individuals and the guys you see doing big things. You always hear about the Olympics as a big thing, so through my journey, it’s nice that I can be on the other end of that journey for those kids.” Jefferies said. “Staying connected and giving back is what keeps your head on the ground, keeps you humble, and allows you to push and never forget where you came from.”
