SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — The summer season also means sweet corn season for many Siouxlanders.

Tammy Donovan, the owner and operator of Country Market on Hamilton Boulevard, sells a variety of fresh produce, especially sweet corn. Their sweet corn planting typically begins at the beginning of April and is ready to harvest at the end of July. Donovan was fortunate enough to have a prosperous season with plenty of stock to go around.

More than $70K of emergency grants given to groups helping Siouxland flood victims

“We’re off to a good start,” he said. “The crops ran a little late this year, like by about a week, but the corn is so good and business has been really good.”

If you are interested in stopping by, they are open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
