SIOUX CITY, Iowa ( KCAU ) —  Some of the region’s top skateboarders were on hand to showcase their skills at the 7 th Annual Andy Langin Memorial Skateboard Competition.

This annual event provides a platform for skateboarders of all talent levels to foster a sense of community and support.

Partnership between Siouxland organizations makes ‘substantial impact’

“People are more amped to go out and skateboard instead of you know going up to buildings and skateboarding on their stairs and stuff,” Jerry Sanders with the Pawnshop Skate Company said, “They actually have a place to go and a lot of comradery here with the kids and stuff like that.”

“We got a lot of cool stuff here going on and there’s a good vibe and everybody is rooting each other on and we’d love to have you out here to check it out,” President of the Sioux City Skateboard Association David Hall said.

This competition had three divisions, from beginners to advanced, with the top three from each division taking home a River-Cade trophy.
