2 dead after Sioux City crash, 4 others hospitalized

SIOXU CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Two people are dead and four others are injured after a Sioux City crash.

The Sioux City Police Department said in a release that police and the Sioux City Fire Rescue were called Sunday at 9:13 p.m. to a crash at West 3rd and Rebecca Streets.

The release said that they believe a 2000 Chevrolet pickup was going at a high speed east on West 3rd Street and then hit a 2008 Volkswagen crossing the intersection.

The Volkswagen driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and a passenger was taken to a local hospital where they died. Two of the Volkswagen’s passengers were taken to a local hospital as well as the pickup driver and a passenger.

Names are not being released at this time.

Authorities are still investigating the crash.
