    FEMA offering free demonstrations on how to preserve storm-damaged items

    SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — If some of your irreplaceable photos, books, and other family heirlooms were damaged in recent storms, there may be a chance to save them.

    According to a release, FEMA preservation professionals will be visiting recovery centers to offer advice on how to salvage items damaged in recent storms.

    Dickinson County starting to return to normal after flooding

    The release states that the specialist will demonstrate cleaning photographs and preserving books, documents, electronic media, and textiles.

    Attendees are asked not to bring damaged items to these events to avoid causing more damage. It’s instead recommended to bring photographs of the items that need preserving.
