SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — On Friday, more than 300 kids got to participate in the Siouxland Sports Camp.

The free event had kids participate ranging from kindergarten to 6th grade. The kids were able to choose out of five sports to play Friday morning.

Over 37 kids went to Miracle Field to learn and play baseball and softball. Organizer Mike McManamy told KCAU 9 how he felt about doing a day like this.

“I hope this continues and we just keep building on it,” McManamy said. “To give back, and kids get to participate in a game that I love. You have a wide variety of talents, but they’re all enthusiastic and that’s all we can ask.”

“Yeah, I had a blast,” Miracle Division organizer Braxton Hindeers said. “It’s always a blessing being out at Miracle field with our athletes and just seeing the smiles on their faces.”

The 300 kids were spread out all throughout Siouxland playing different sports. Many of the kids playing baseball said they had a lot of fun and will do it again next year.
