Orange City Man Arrested After Crash
An Orange City man was arrested following the investigation of a car crash near Sioux Center early Saturday evening. 62-year-old William Manchester of Orange City was travelling west on 400th Street two miles east of Sioux Center when he lost control of the Chevy Trailblazer he was driving. The vehicle went into a ditch and rolled onto its top in a creek. Manchester was taken to Sioux Center Health for treatment of minor injuries.

Sioux Center, Iowa — An Orange City man was transported to a hospital and then to jail after an accident near Sioux Center on Saturday, July 21, 2024. The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 2:30 p.m., 62-year-old William Manchester of Orange City was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer westbound on 400th Street about two miles east of Sioux Center, when he lost control of the SUV, which entered the south ditch and rolled, coming to a rest on its top in a creek.

Rock Valley schools set plan for new school year
ROCK VALLEY, Iowa (Sioux County Radio) - The school year will begin a couple of weeks late in Rock Valley this fall as the community recovers from flooding. According to Sioux County Radio, classrooms aren’t expected to be ready on time. Students in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade will start classes at Trinity Christian Reformed Church. Third, fourth, and fifth graders will start in cleaned and sanitized, but unfinished, classrooms.
Nebraska Man Injured In Alton Accident
Alton, Iowa – A South Sioux City man was injured in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday evening (July 17th) on Highway 60, just south of Alton. The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says around 6:45 Wednesday evening the Sioux County Communications Center received calls reporting that 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee was being driven in an unsafe manner, northbound on Highway 60. Deputies say before they could locate and stop the Jeep its driver, who authorities identify as 31-year-old Orson Castillo, lost control of the SUV and struck a bridge.
