Sanborn Woman Pulled from Burning Vehicle
Alton, IA (KICD) — A Sanborn woman was pulled from a burning vehicle near Alton early Friday morning. The Sioux County Sheriff’s Department says 25 year old Madison Borden was Northbound on Highway 60 two miles South of town when she entered the median and rolled. Other motorists stopped to get her out after her Buck Terraza burst into flames.

Hull Man Taken To Hospital After Crash East of Rock Valley
Rock Valley, Iowa — A Hull man was taken to a hospital after an accident on Thursday morning near Rock Valley. The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office tells us that a few minutes before 10:00 a.m., 78-year-old Orville Vant Hul of Hull was driving a 2022 Chevrolet pickup westbound on 310th Street — Highway 18 — west of Highway 75, four miles east of Rock Valley, when he lost control of the vehicle, which struck an Iowa Department of Transportation reflective post and entered the north ditch, coming to rest under the BNSF Railway bridge.

Wielenga: Historic flooding uncovers piece of ancient history
Record breaking floodwaters washed through Sioux County, leaving behind a wave of destruction. An estimated 500 homes sustained flood damage in Rock Valley, with a rough estimate of 100-150 of those homes having main floor damage. In Hawarden, 190 homes in the community were severely or significantly damaged, and about 100 more sustained mild to moderate damage. Along the Floyd River in Alton in Sioux County, an estimated 15 municipal and surrounding properties were affected by flooding, and campgrounds on the north side of town also sustained significant damage.
2 injured in collision near Alton
ALTON, Iowa -- Two people were injured Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision at a rural intersection near Alton. According to the Sioux County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred one mile east of Alton at the intersection of 450th Street and Kingbird Avenue at 4:38 p.m., when Cesar Salazar, who was driving a Ford F150 pickup truck east on 450th Street, collided with a southbound Ford F150 driven by Karibeth Larson. Both pickups came to rest in the southeast ditch.
