SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Missouri Valley Football Conference media days concluded Wednesday and teams like USD had a chance share their approach on the upcoming season.

Switching over to USD, who sits third in the MVFC coaches poll, the Coyotes have lost three All-Americans and two players to the NFL on the defensive end. Coach Bob Nielson says that now areas are opened for guys to step up. He says some veteran players on the defensive side have done so, along with having guys prove themselves during the spring season.

“With three starters back in the secondary, three starters back up front that we feel like a great base of leadership. And from an overall standpoint, maybe a little more seasoned on the offensive side across the board, but defensively we’re going to be a good team again,” coach Nielson said.

The Coyotes season opener will be at home against Northern State set for August 29th.
