After 'unusual' case along I-94, St. Paul man charged with murder
ST PAUL, Minn. — A St. Paul man is charged with murder after allegedly choking another man to death in his car on I-94 Thursday, a case police called "unusual." According to the criminal complaint, Nathan Thomas Wondra, 32, was being driven to Regions Hospital by the victim, who was a member of the clergy. Wondra said he heard voices in his head saying to kill the victim, and that it was the only way to save humanity. That's when he asked the victim to pull to the side of the interstate and Wondra strangled him.
Minnesota State Trooper rescues injured eagle, dies on the way to the Raptor Center
MINNEAPOLIS — Though a Minnesota State Trooper attempted to rescue an injured eagle on I-35E on Friday, the bird unfortunately died before reaching the Raptor Center.The trooper found the eagle on the highway in between the Cliff Road and Cedar Avenue exit near Eagan. According to a representative from the Minnesota State Patrol, it's unclear how the eagle was injured. The trooper reported no obvious signs of injury on the eagle. When the trooper arrived at the scene to try and clear the animal off the road, that's when it was observed that the eagle couldn't fly. The trooper wrapped the eagle in a blanket and drove to the Raptor Center in Falcon Heights, said the Minnesota State Patrol. Unfortunately, by the time the trooper arrived at the facility, the eagle had died. The Raptor Center took possession of the eagle.
Train strikes, kills pedestrian in St. Cloud
ST. CLOUD, Minn. — St. Cloud Police said a man has died after he was struck by a train on Friday morning. According to a news release from St. Cloud PD, the incident happened near a railroad crossing on the 500 block of St. Germain Street East. Officers found an adult male victim dead at the scene.

Rarely seen wildcat caught on trail-cam in northern Minnesota
The Voyageurs Wolf Project has shared rare footage of a lynx pausing directly in front of a remote trail camera in northern Minnesota. “We captured some really neat footage of lynx this past year on our cameras but this is definitely the coolest,” the group stated Wednesday via Instagram. “In fact, this might be the best video of a lynx we have ever captured, not least because the lynx decided sit right in front of the camera.” The Voyageurs Wolf Project uses a network of motion-sensor cameras to study wolves in and around Voyageurs National Park. But, naturally, other critters also utilize trails frequented by wolves. The stealthy felines tend to occur more frequently in northern Minnesota when snowshoe hare populations crash or decline in Canada. The lynx has few natural predators, but wolves are known to kill lynx.

Wisconsin’s First LGBTQ Historic Landmark Will Be in Milwaukee
The Wisconsin Historical Society will dedicate the first LGBTQ historic landmark in Wisconsin on Monday near the Downtown location where the Black Nite tavern once stood. The Black Nite was the site of Wisconsin’s first known LGBTQ uprising, on Aug. 5, 1961. The landmark, sponsored by the Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project, is also the first to honor a Black transgender person.
