Major country star, Rock the South headliner to perform again in Alabama
Jelly Roll, a headliner at this year’s Rock the South festival, will return to Alabama for a fall concert in Birmingham. The country star has scheduled a show on Nov. 21 at the Legacy Arena at the BJCC. It’s a stop on his “The Beautifully Broken Tour,” with opening acts Ernest, Shaboozey and Allie Colleen.
New bill would require Alabamians acquire permit before carrying assault weapons
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — A new bill filed recently would require Alabamians to obtain a permit to carry assault weapons, either on their person or in their vehicle. Filed by Rep. Kenyatte Hassell, D-Montgomery, House Bill 23 defines an assault weapon as a semiautomatic rifle with the capacity to accept detachable magazines that possess at least one of six attributes, among them being a folding stock or second handgrip.
