Part of US 29 down to one lane, police on scene
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Route 29 near Exit 8A is down to one lane on Thursday morning. Candlers Mountain Road ramp is being blocked off by police. According to our crew on scene, there is a police presence on the scene of what looks like a multi-vehicle accident. We saw minor damage.
Large Bear Spotted in Heavily Populated Residential Areas of City, Including Near Johnson Avenue Schools
Several Bridgeport residents have reported spotting a large black bear in residential areas across the city, with the earliest reports coming in at just before noon today. The photo below shows the bear running across Johnson Avenue in the turn just above Johnson Elementary School. Other reports have the bear as being seen in an area just across Johnson Avenue in another significant residential area.
