Wrong the first aircraft carrier from ships kel to the flight deck was the USS Ranger CV-4

Sadly, many of the LANGLEY survivors would be lost when the ships they were aboard, oiler USS PECOS and destroyer USS EDSALL were themselves sunk before they could reach a safe port.
