The 3rd generation Stovebolt debuted in 1962 at 194 cu inches in the then new Chevy Ii. Full size Chevys and 2WD pickups got the new 230 cu. inch six. 4WD trucks continued with the 235 through 1963. The 1964 Cevelle used the 230 six or a 283 or 327. But do any of you realize, Chevy had a 287cubic inch overhead valve V8 in the 1916-1918 Model D? That's right, Chevy had a V8 before Ford did.
