Furman professor wins research award

Turning milder, but staying humid with increasing chances for storms
GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - We’re finally poised for some prolonged heat relief, but it comes as the cost of returning storms. Scattered thunderstorms will continue to move through the area this evening. As the initial round of afternoon storms departs, new storms are likely to develop in some of our western or mountain communities and head east. That means some of us who dealt with storms already today, could encounter a few more before midnight when things are expected to wrap up. Skies will remain partly cloudy overnight, with humid lows in the mid 60s to low 70s.
