South Carolina Research Authority opens new office
Originally calling Charleston and Columbia home, seven facilities later, South Carolina Research Authority added Greenville to its line-up of sites, according to an SCRA news release. The organization this month held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house to celebrate the new office at 411 University Ridge, according to its website.

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office has charged two individuals after a two-year-old died from a gunshot wound. According to an email from Lt. Ryan Flood with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, Deylakotia Simon Burgess, 32, and Willie Tyron Burgess Jr., 50, both of Simpsonville, were charged with unlawfully placing a child at risk.
