SLED Investigating Officer Involved Shooting in Easley
Pickens County Deputy Coroner Tommy M. Page reported that Daniel Scott McGoldrick, 35, of Easley, SC, was killed in an officer-involved shooting on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 2:14 p.m. at 117 Scott Avenue, Easley, SC. According to Easley Police, officers responded to a domestic incident involving McGoldrick, a woman, and a child. The woman was allegedly shoved and possibly injured. McGoldrick, suspected of having a weapon, reportedly barricaded himself inside the home. He later emerged with his shirt raised, showing a weapon, and allegedly pointed it at officers. At least one officer fired a weapon, but no officers, bystanders, or children were injured. The incident is under investigation by the Easley Police Department, SLED, and the Pickens County Coroner’s Office.
