    CITY COUNCIL APPROVES CYBER INSURANCE COVERAGE

    The Slater City Council approved cyber insurance coverage during its meeting on Tuesday, July 2.

    The city has a cyber insurance policy with MIRMA, and the cost will be $5,040 for the next fiscal year. After some discussion over the rise in cyber threats, the council voted to approve the coverage.

    In other news, Slater Mayor Terry Jordan reported that Slater trash service is scheduled for regular pickup on Thursday, July 4.

    Also, representatives from Evergy are planning to attend the next city council meeting to propose setting up a solar farm in the city limits. Evergy wants to provide more information about their plans for the farm and listen to feedback from the council. The next city council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 16.
