    One dead after collision near Slaughters

    HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – One person has died after a fatal crash near Slaughters.

    Troopers with the Kentucky State Police say on July 17, at approximately 1:32 a.m. (CT), the Webster County Sheriff’s Department requested KSP Post 2 to investigate a fatal collision on Interstate 69.

    KSP to close part of I-69 NB near Slaughters Thursday

    KSP says preliminary investigation revealed that Dexter B. George, 30, of Greenville, was operating a silver Ford F-350 southbound on I-69. At approximately the 131-mile marker, the Silver Ford collided with a red Nisan Altima traveling northbound in the southbound lane. The red Nissan Altima was operated by Krista N. Brune, 25, of Evansville.

    Troopers say Brune was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Webster County Coroner. George did not report any injuries.

    KSP says the investigation is ongoing.
