Walz tests anti-elitist message by knocking Vance’s Ivy League degree
CHICAGO, Illinois — Tim Walz is betting his vice presidential rival’s sterling academic credentials won’t impress voters. The Minnesota governor, at a recent rally with his new boss, Vice President Kamala Harris, the 2024 Democratic nominee-designate, mocked the educational achievements of Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH). Vance, a 2013 Yale Law School graduate, was tapped for […]

Walz amplifies Harris’s attacks on GOP weak spot: infertility treatment
Minnesota Gov. Winnebago replacing a failed siren
Winnebago Fire Department chief Bret Osborn attended the Aug. 14 Winnebago Council meeting to address the council concerning a problem with the siren located behind City Hall. “As all of you are aware, on Aug. 5, the Winnebago Fire Department was called out to spot for weather that had moved into the area. Just north of town, less than a mile away, a funnel cloud was spotted by a trained spotter,” Osborn commented. “Had it come to the ground and stayed, the track it was on would have hit the very northeast corner of town. I called for the sirens to be set off and the big one behind City Hall failed.”
Minnesota to legalize lane splitting in July 2025
ST. PAUL, Minn. — It's been a deadly few days for motorcyclists on Minnesota roads. Three motorcyclists were killed in separate crashes on Thursday in a 10-hour span. Saturday afternoon, another motorcyclist was killed. While each crash was different, safety advocates say it's a reminder of the dangers of riding on the road. "The younger riders are buying more performance-oriented, faster, motorcycles. So arguably, you've got to be able to ride better if you're riding faster," said Jed Duncan. Duncan has been teaching people how to ride a motorcycle for 25 years and founded Rider Academy in St. Paul. "The population is changing a...

Peggy Riker is still enjoying life at age 94
Peggy Riker had two things to celebrate on July 20 of this year. Not only was it her 94th birthday that day, she also learned she was going to become a great-grandmother. “It was kind of funny,” Peggy says. “I read the birthday card from my granddaughter Kayla and it said something about me being a great-grandmother and I thought I was being called a really good grandma. Then, I was told to read it again and I realized what it was really saying.”
