A pair of Westchester beaches that were forced to close last week due to bacteria concerns are cleared to reopen, according to the Westchester County Health Department.

Croton Point Park Beach reopened Tuesday. The Village of Sleepy Hollow confirmed Wednesday that Philipse Manor Beach has also reopened.

The beaches closed last week because of elevated bacteria levels caused by heavy rains. The Health Department said beach samples collected exceeded the maximum level of enterococcus bacteria outlined by the county's sanitary code.

After samples were collected Monday, the county said both met safety standards.
