A man has been arrested for allegedly attempting to initiate a murder-for-hire plot targeting two individuals in Smith County. The arrest occurred on June 23, according to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office.

Randall Hutchinson, a Smith County resident, is accused of orchestrating a plan to have two residents killed in exchange for $12,000. The identities of the intended victims and their connection to Hutchinson have not been disclosed.

Authorities reported that Hutchinson approached an individual with the proposal, supplying them with a firearm, gloves, and ammunition intended for use in the planned murders. However, investigators acted swiftly to intercept the plot and prevent any potential harm.

Hutchinson was arrested without incident as he attempted to leave the county. He now faces two felony charges related to the murder-for-hire scheme. The case remains under investigation as officials continue to review additional details and evidence.
