Investigators find fire origin in Smith County home destroyed on Fourth of July
SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - The Smith County fire marshal said a fire that destroyed a home on July 4 started in a garage trash can. Fire Marshal Chad Hogue initially said that the fire, reported in the 16900 block of FM 756 southwest of Tyler around 11:45 p.m., may have involved a fireworks incident.

Puppy Rescued from Under Uprooted Tree by Smith County Emergency Services
SMITH COUNTY, Texas — Emergency responders successfully rescued a puppy trapped under an uprooted tree on Sunday.The Smith County Emergency Services District 2 reported that the call came in for a puppy stuck under the tree. The responders managed to free the puppy, ensuring it was safe and unharmed.
