The weather service’s Wakefield office cited “dangerously hot conditions,” including heat index values of up to 110, in issuing the warning, which encourages people to stay in air-conditioned spaces until 8 p.m. today. The free concert series, which runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day on Friday evenings, will resume July 12 with a performance by Pasture #3, a group of musicians from the Mill Swamp Indian Horses rescue. Concerts begin at 7 p.m. on the Main Street Square stage in front of The Smithfield Times office.
