Emma Crosby is a master of the winter, a master of the summer, and a master of herself. She has hobbies to sustain her through the off season and then once winter comes, Emma absolutely snaps. She is a bit of an all-terrain vehicle when it comes to snowboarding, able to handle big jumps, backcountry riding, street rails, and the terrain park. She's really the embodiment of passion, humility, discipline, and silliness when you catch her on the right day. And we could not love her more for it.

Hey, Emma. Let's talk about your summer or something. I miss you.
Miss you too, Juice. Let me hop in the shower quick, then let's do it.

"Vacation and my Tommy Bahama chair."

Well, I guess first of all, how was last winter for you? Highs and lows?
Last year was good. It was my first season without being hurt in a while, which felt exciting. I feel like with every season, I learn more about filming and feel more confident in my boarding. I went on three trips for a Salomon project and did Natural Selection. It was a really refreshing mix to go from street to powder to street, but at the same time, it was a bit hard to really get into the groove of one or the other. But overall, I really enjoyed the winter and the crews I was with. It made me feel really inspired.

Nothing better than feeling inspired. So how do you feel once it's summertime? Does that inspired feeling remain?
Yeah, it’s funny. With everything being a calendar year cycle, I feel like it’s easy to get stuck in the rhythms that the seasons present to you. It’s always refreshing when different parts of the year hit and when it gets warmer or colder, but it's a bit stale when you know what's coming. I’ve been trying to really enjoy summer and some downtime and just use it as a recharge time for the next winter. Obviously, I love every part of winter and spring, so I’m trying to take time away so that I can enjoy it that much more.

    Summer cleaning.

How are you keeping busy this summer? Other than going to the San Diego fair with me and texting about faerie smut books.
Haha, that was so fun. I really like to do things that I can’t do in the winter. I love to bike, skate, and do any activities my friends rope me into. I love to read and spend time making dinner with my roommates and family. I love how long the days are and how I can connect back with myself a bit without the busy-ness of winter taking place. I’ve also gotten really into watching women’s basketball, so that’s fun to watch in the summer, too. Haha.

Tell me how you prepare for the upcoming season. Are there any mental shifts you need to make or techniques to get in the zone?
Hmmm, maybe moreso now than ever before. I feel like I struggle a bit with being pretty hard on myself. It’s an ever-evolving thing for me to work on, but I find that getting into the headspace of really letting go and trying not to control too much has been helpful for me. Even simple stuff like going for a walk in the morning while on a trip helps me stay grounded and doesn’t let my mind run wild. Settling my breathing while I’m trying to film a clip goes a long way for me, too; it helps me stay connected to myself.

Honestly, beautiful. So any specific plans for this upcoming season?
No plans yet, hopefully something lines up! It’ll be cool to see what falls into place. Gian [Sutter] and I worked on the abstract graphic for 2026, so I think we are hoping to go on a trip for that, for sure.

"I went to Vegas to watch one of my favorite WNBA teams play. It was epic. First time in Vegas, too. Vegas is crazy."

Anything you’re most excited about going into the fall and winter?
I’m going to two WNBA games in August that I’m really excited for, haha. Probably that and going on some bike rides. It’s so nice to bike when the weather gets a bit cooler in Salt Lake. I am super inspired by my friends, I love seeing the stuff they create and are a part of, so I’m excited to see everything they’ve been working on the last winter.

Saaaame! Last one. What does the world not know about Emma Crosby?
Hmm. I can juggle. I feel like Jill Perkins may have aired that one out already. But I can juggle the clubs on fire and stuff, haha.
