Artist Davidaisy, aka Dave Steigerwald in the pages of SNOWBOARDER Magazine in the mid-to-late 2010s, debuts his solo exhibition, Concrete Meadows, on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at House of Waves in Newport, Rhode Island.

Dave was the art director of SNOWBOARDER for years, ushering in the redesign of the magazine in 2016 that brought back an updated version of the original SNOWBOARDER logo and an aesthetically pleasing visual treatment that included tiny drawings of tapped kegs to signify the end of every story.

His personal work is expressive, emotive, and laced with sardonic wit (and a healthy dose of curiosity). Take the below piece, titled "Economical future planning".

Dave's legacy at SNOWBOARDER is stamped all over print volumes, Superparks, and much more. He was the illustrator of Crusty the Snowman, the mascot of The Launch. We profiled him in 2020 in the Artist in Residence column. Hailing from New England, a graduated of the legendary Plymouth State, Dave's snowboarding roots run deep. In addition to his work at SNOWBOARDER, he has contributed in countless ways to snowboarding, through board graphics, video identities, art shows...and just being a really fun person with whom to take laps.

If you're local to Southern New England, get to House of Waves in Newport on Saturday, August 24th to check out a whole bunch of his work, slap some high fives, and enjoy a good night with great people.
