Egan Wint, known as princess menace on Instagram, and known as Egg among her friends, just pulled at our heart strings with a recent Instagram post where she thanked her "snowboard guru", a fellow friend and snowboarder, Katie Kennedy.

Egan grew up in Colorado with Breckenridge Resort being her main home mountain. She has been a threat in the rail jam scene for the past couple of seasons, and she is still a young gun. Living in Salt Lake City, Utah, Egg has created very strong bonds with other fellow snowboarders like Sierra "Dragon" Forchheimer, Iris Pham, and many more.

Katie Kennedy is a few years older than Egan but shares the exact same child like goof ball energy and spirit that snowboarders in general possess. Katie grew up in New Jersey, and now resides in Salt Lake City, Utah, as well. It is a bit of snowboarders' haven, if you will.

Now a days, it is not uncommon to see multiple women on a singular snowboard team all buddying around, however, there was once a time, not long ago, that this instance was unheard of. There was usually room for one woman on a snowboard team, if any at all, which would create a competitive mind set amongst women against one another.

But women supporting each other in action sports, especially in snowboarding, is essential for growth, empowerment, and breaking barriers. In a traditionally male dominated industry, mutual support fosters a sense of belonging and helps to challenge stereotypes put against us. Women who uplift one another can inspire future generations, providing visibility to female athletes and normalizing their presence in the sport. Mentorship and camaraderie help build confidence, push boundaries, and create a more inclusive and diverse community. When women stand together, they cultivate an environment where everyone can thrive, ultimately elevating the sport and encouraging more participation from all.

So that is all to say, thank you to Egg and to Katie for inspiring us all.
