Let the count downs begin! Resorts all across America are starting to announce their opening days, so we can officially start counting down the days until we get to be on hill. I know I am excited!

Purgatory Resort , one of Colorado’s most family-friendly and affordable ski resorts, has announced their official opening day for the 2024/25 season. Starting November 16 and ending April 13, Purgatory will be open with daily operations. And you can expect weekend operations all the way up until April 27th. Tickets for the 2024-25 season are now on sale, which gives you the best opportunity to snag the highest savings. Purgatory offers a dynamic model for buying tickets, which just means that they adjust ticket prices in real-time based on demand, rewarding those who purchase early with the lowest prices available. Guests are encouraged to buy tickets as soon as possible to take advantage of these savings. Tickets are available at purgatory.ski .

Purgatory is a resort tucked away between Durango and Silverton along the San Juan Skyway, on the southern edge of the San Juan Mountains. Known as one of the best value ski resorts in Colorado, Purgatory’s Power Kids season pass is the only pass in North America that grants free unlimited skiing, riding and lift-served mountain biking for all kids ages 12 and under, no blackout days or purchase required. They feature 107 trails, 4 terrain parks, 11 lifts, and 1,607 skiable acres.

Brian Head Resort in Southern Utah will kick off it's 60th ski season on Friday, November 8th, with lift tickets starting at $19 on select dates . Guests are encouraged to buy tickets as soon as possible to take advantage of these savings. Brian Head has the same dynamic pricing model as Purgatory, so lift ticket prices rise as demand increases.

Exciting news for the 24/25 season is that Brian Head Resort will add three new ski trails and replace over 2,400 feet of snowmaking line to provide the best snow conditions possible. The resort also celebrates its 60th anniversary on January 7, 2025, with a week of events and activities!

Brian Head Resort features 650 acres of skiable terrain with 71 trails and 8 lifts. It has Utah's highest base elevation at 9,600 feet and receives an average annual snowfall of nearly 360 inches of that good, good Utah powder. The resort is located approximately three hours from Las Vegas and about four hours from Salt Lake City, and it offers a ski and snowboard school, terrain parks, night skiing, and tubing.

It looks like it is going to be an early season for all of us folks on the western side of the country! Can not wait to see what snow fall brings to us this year, and which resorts will be opening potentially even earlier than Brian Head and Purgatory Resort.
