Selinsgrove, Pa. — Construction will be underway next week for a bridge for the Southern Section of the Central Susquehanna Valley Transportation (CSVT) project in Snyder County. Missing firearm report in Snyder County
Beavertown, Pa. — Police say a person is missing their firearm from a location in Beaver Township, Snyder County. Trp. Jacob Kozma of state police at Selinsgrove received a report on July 1 that a Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 380 pistol was missing from the 1400 block of Reservoir Road. The pistol has serial number KFJ5662. If anyone has information or has located this firearm, they should call PSP Selisngrove at 570-374-8145.
Possible cause determined for Snyder County house fire
Middleburg, Pa. — A fire that broke out last week at a Snyder County home was likely due to a possible electrical malfunction and careless smoking, police say. State police fire marshal Nathan Birth investigated after responders arrived to the scene shortly before 3 a.m. June 25 at the home at 8301 Route 522 in Franklin Township. Three people were transported to local hospitals for treatment for smoke inhalation, according to a police report from Birth. One of the individuals had moderate to severe injuries. The individuals have since been released from the hospital. Though Birth stated possible causes of the fire, the official cause remains undetermined. Citizens Hose Company in Middleburg responded to the scene.

Tornado warning for Northumberland and Snyder counties early Saturday evening
A tornado warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 5:28 p.m. in effect until 5:45 p.m. for Northumberland and Snyder counties. "At 5:27 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Meiserville, moving east at 55 mph," states the weather service. "Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely."
