Daytime Emmy nominee Linden Ashby, the real-life husband of Susan Walters, who plays Diane, is back on Young and the Restless according to X, formerly Twitter. A Y&R devotee, who posts about the show on social media, broke the news of the actor’s return.

    He’s Back!

“#yr cast Guess who’s back?” posted Sharon Champagne (what a fun name!) about the actor’s return. As viewers recall, Ashby reprised the role of Sharon’s (Sharon Case) obsessed stalker after a nearly 20-year absence in 2023. His return was brief, but the talented Ashby scored a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his turn on the show.

Now, Ashby, according to the show’s credits that Champagne screen grabbed, the actor is back as Cameron. Is he alive? Is it a fantasy — or the real thing? It’s likely this is a brief return as Ashby is listed among the recurring players.

Viewers are just going to have to stay tuned to Y&R to find out what’s going on! Check out Champagne’s post above to see Ashby’s name and find out who else is appearing on the show this week. Viewers can expect to see Cole Howard, played by J. Eddie Peck, too.

Soap Hub spoke to Ashby earlier this year after he learned he’d been nominated for a Daytime Emmy. “I love Sharon, and I love Josh [Morrow, Nick],” Ashby said. “Reylynn [Caster, Faith] was very fun to work with. Everyone at Y&R is great [especially] Josh Griffith [head writer/executive producer]. It was really great working with everyone.”

We asked Ashby if there was any way he might be up for more appearances on the show despite his character being dead. (Sharon killed him to save her daughter, Faith.) “There’s always a twin,” Ashby teased about future appearances. “There’s always a way.”
