Amy Lewis will soon be back on The Young and the Restless. However, she's going to look a bit different this time around.

    A New Look For Amy

Deadline reported that Y&R cast Valarie Pettiford as Amy Lewis on a recurring basis. Soap fans will recognize Pettiford from her time from 1990 to 1994 as Sheila Price on One Life to Live. She started in daytime as Dr. Courtney Walker on Another World.

In 1983, Stephanie E. Williams debuted Amy in Genoa City. Longtime soap fans know that it's been three decades since Amy Lewis was on the canvas. When she was there, she worked as a receptionist at Paul (Doug Davidson -- who told Soap Hub about his Y&R exit) and Andy's (Steven Ford) firm. Williams left Y&R in 1998, and she went to General Hospital where she portrayed Dr. Simone Hardy.

Interestingly, this isn't the first time that Pettiford and Williams have portrayed the same character on a soap opera. Williams portrayed Sheila Price on OLTL after Pettiford left the role.

Television fans might recognize Pettiford from her roles on The Family Business and The Equalizer. She's also in the upcoming movie Too Many Christmases.

For now, there's no information on what brings Amy back to Genoa City. Soap Hub will bring you the details as we learn them. What do you want to see her do this time around? Do you have any thoughts on why she might return? Let us know in the comments below.

Maybe she will bring life back to the show as long as the writers write good and juicy storylines and she stay on for more than a minute. I say bring Drucella back too.
