Young and the Restless Star Camryn Grimes Claps Back After Fans Mock Son’s Name

Like many soap stars, The Young and the Restless actress Camryn Grimes is active on social media. While the star loves engaging with fans, sometimes a few people can be mean. Grimes recently found herself pushing back after one fan made a rude comment about her son.

One Mad Mama

Grimes and her fiancé Brock Powell welcomed their first child, son Bridger Elias, in December 2023. Like many new moms, Grimes isn’t shy about sharing photos of her baby or opening up about motherhood. Yet, being a parent in the public eye, she’s prone to criticism.

Recently, some fans on X mocked her son’s name. The ordeal started when a user called @psrome89 wrote, “Stupid baby name sorry.”

Another user @brenda28402 replied, “I said the same thing…what an ugly name.”

When Grimes got wind of the comments, the mama went into protective mode. In response to @brenda28402 tweets, she wrote:

“So a few years back (after the exhaustion of COVID) I reconciled my need to hold hateful and unnecessary internet rhetoric accountable, as it ultimately gave way to more negativity. That being said, it takes a consummate a****** to unabashedly respond like this about A BABY.”

What’s In A Name?

When it came to choosing a name for her son, Grimes told Soap Opera Digest, it was an interesting process. “I have sort of a unique name, and my brother and my sisters have unique names, and I just knew I wasn’t going to do something traditional.”

Although Bridger was one of the contenders on the baby name list, the actress didn’t give it much consideration. However, after researching, Grimes chose her son’s name.

”I’ve never really heard of a Bridger,” she explained. “And then when I looked up the name, there’s a Bridger, Montana, named after this adventurer and pioneer, and my dad’s from Montana, so I was like, ‘That’s the kind of energy I want for my kid,’ and very quickly Brock and I said, ‘Let’s do it.’ We didn’t hem and haw for too long over it.”

While some fans might disagree with the name, Grimes and her fiancé love it. The new parents are overjoyed by their bundle of joy, who’ll soon be celebrating his first birthday.
