It won’t be long now before Jonathan Jackson brings Lucky back to General Hospital ! The Daytime Emmy winner reported to the soap’s studio on Aug. 5 to begin filming his scenes, and GH marked the occasion with a behind-the-scenes photo of Jackson!

In the image shared across GH’s social media channels, Jackson stands next to a vintage poster promoting Luke and Laura’s return to the soap back in October 1993. The poster has the words “Luke & Laura” in bold, block letters with silhouettes of the beloved characters played by Anthony Geary and Genie Francis, holding hands and running. As longtime viewers are aware, that milestone comeback by the soap’s supercouple also marked Jackson’s debut as the pair’s son, Lucas Lorenzo “Lucky” Jr.!

“We are so very lucky (see what we did there) to have Jonathan Jackson back in the building… and you won’t have to wait long to see what he has in store for Port Charles.”

As previously reported, Jackson is scheduled to return to Port Charles in late August, with the actor saying that he was “excited for the journey to continue.”

The actor was 11 years old when he nabbed his first professional acting gig in the legacy role of Lucky Spencer , the firstborn child of Luke and Laura. His original run lasted from 1993-’99, during which time he won an impressive five Daytime Emmy Awards for his performance. A decade later, Jackson returned for a second stint in Port Charles, this time staying until 2011 when Lucky left Port Charles and relocated to Ireland. He briefly returned in the summer of 2015 to participate in Geary’s final storyline before retiring, when Lucky was kidnapped by Luke’s rival, mobster Frank Smith, and his parents had to work together to rescue him.

Stay tuned to see what brings Lucky back to town this time around!
