The idea of soaps having seasons is a little odd given that daytime dramas air every weekday throughout the year non-stop. But CBS’ The Young & The Restless and The Bold & The Beautiful are both starting new seasons soon and have plans for some big celebrations coming up!

Y&R will be kicking off its 52nd season on Thursday, Oct. 3, marking its 37th year as the number-one-rated soap on the air. This fall, fans can expect the Newman/Abbott feud to kick into high gear as Victor’s attack on Jack has the Abbott family taking sides instead of acting as one, Sharon continuing to give in to her dark side, and Abby and Devon struggling to plan their November wedding.

The Wednesday, Nov. 13, episode will be a very special one as Y&R will be airing its 13,000th episode. And this fall the soap will celebrate the 30th anniversaries of both Sharon Case (Sharon) and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) with very special shows dedicated to their characters. Naturally, SoapsInDepth.com will keep you updated on when those are going to air because they promise to be ones fans will not want to miss!

Over on B&B , the soap begins its 38th season on Monday, Sept. 16. This fall, the drama will intensify as Brooke and Taylor once again butt heads, this time over Hope continuing to pursue Steffy’s husband, Finn. But when Steffy threatens her fashion line, Hope decides to pivot and go after someone else entirely! Ridge is stunned to discover the real reason Taylor returned to Los Angeles, and Will is determined to bring his parents, Bill and Katie, back together again. Plus, Tom Arnold returns as Captain Deuce Stevens, and Icelandic rocker Jökull Júliusson from the band Kaleo, performs at the Brooke’s Bedroom fashion campaign.

The 38th season of B&B will also mark Don Diamont’s 40th year at CBS Daytime. The actor technically began his soap career playing Carlo Forenza on Days of Our Lives back in 1984, but he joined CBS Daytime in 1985 to play Brad Carlton on Y&R. After his character was killed off in 2009, he moved over to B&B to play the new role of Bill Spencer, Jr., a role he continues to play to this day.
