A Special Night With GH's Maurice Benard!

Fans got up close and personal with General Hospital star Maurice Benard (Sonny) at Governor’s Comedy Club at The Brokerage in Bellmore, Long Island! The actor shared personal stories about current and past storylines on the soap as well as other roles like when he played John Gotti and of course, Desi Arnez!

Joining Bernard on the trip to the East Coast was his wife, Paula, and his son, Joshua, who joined his father on stage. The younger Benard talked about his run as Adam on GH and performed some songs for the delighted audience. Heck, father and son sang together for some of them!

   Benard joined his son in performing some tunes including Bob Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone,” Elvis’ “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” and even a little bit of Led Zepplin’s “Stairway to Heaven!”

   Naturally, one of the questions fans wanted to ask was if the veteran actor was going to retire. And they were delighted when he assured them he had no plans of the sort!

   Benard autographed photos and copies of his book, Nothing General About It, for his fans.

   There was also new merchandise available for purchase, including this new State of Mind T-shirt!

   VIP tickets for the event included a special post-show meet-and-greet with photo ops!
