Kids grow up so fast on soaps, especially when you send them to those special boarding schools! Katie and Bill’s son, Will Spencer, is now a young man on The Bold & The Beautiful and played by Crew Morrow, the real-life son of Joshua Morrow (Nick, The Young & The Restless), proving talent definitely runs in the family!

“I’m just thrilled that he’s here,” Heather Tom (Katie) enthused to Soap Opera Digest about her new TV son. “I’m loving it! And I’m thrilled that they decided to age the character, too. I feel like it was time for Will to come back — the right time for him to come back. I think [dealing with a teenager] is the next step in [Bill and Katie’s] trajectory and I’d been hoping that they might do this for a while. I guess they were just waiting for the right person and I’m so glad they found Crew! I think he’s going to be great. And I love the connection to Joshua, too.”

Before joining the cast of B&B as the new Katie Logan in 2007, Tom made her daytime debut playing Victoria Newman on Y&R in 1990. She and Joshua Morrow first met when he joined the cast as her brother, Nicholas Newman, in 1994, and now his real-life son is playing her TV son!

“Honestly, it’s such a weird, full-circle moment,” Tom confided. “I mean, daytime is a very small community and we know each other’s family members and stuff like that. But it makes me feel like I’ve been doing this a long time — which I have! And I have to really give kudos to Joshua and [his wife] Tobe, because they clearly raised a really great kid — well, not kid, but man. I’ve been loving it.”

Now that Will is back on the canvas and old enough to be involved in more serious storylines of his own, Tom can’t wait to see what’s net. “I think it’s just going to be fun to see how the character develops,” she declared. “I went through this [in my own soap career] because they had aged Victoria and that’s how I ended up coming on [Y&R]. You get to kind of make the character your own.”

So stay tuned to see what Will gets up to next, and share your thoughts on Morrow’s portrayal of Bill and Katie’s son in the comments below!
