An Afternoon With Soap Star Rena Sofer — See the Pics!

Soap star Rena Sofer made a rare personal appearance for a special fan event held on the East Coast at Rockwells in Pelham, NY on Sept. 29. But as she spoke about her roles as General Hospital ’s Lois, The Bold & The Beautiful ’s Quinn, and her various primetime appearances, the actress revealed that East Coast appearances could become more common as she is moving to New York State!

Sofer shared with the crowd that she’s leaving Los Angeles and moving to New York (State, not City) but assured her fans that she is not leaving GH . She’s not currently on contract with the soap and is happy to commute back and forth whenever they call her in to work.

The evening’s activities included a question and answer session, autographs, photo ops, and a raffle. All proceeds from the raffle went to two charities that are very close to Sofer’s heart — the animal rescue non-profits Slaughterhouse Survivors and Frankie, Lola, & Friends . An animal lover, Sofer has several dogs herself and is currently trying to figure out how to get them all safely across the country to her new home!

   Sofer regaled the packed house at Rockwells with stories from her soaps as well as tales of working with Kiefer Sutherland on 24, Jason Alexander on Seinfeld, and Charlie Sheen on both Spin City and Two and a Half Men.

   One of Sofer's best friends from high school, Libby King, drove in from Maryland to spend some time with her old gal pal and stuck around for the event.

3. 

   While discussing her appearance on Friends, Sofer shared that when she met Jennifer Aniston, she told her she used to be married to Wally Kurth (Ned, GH) because she knew a young Aniston had named her dog Wally because she’d a crush on Kurth when he first started playing Justin on DAYS back in the day!

   After answering questions about her life and career, the actress posed with the fans who asked them!

5. 

   Sofer also signed autographs for the fans, putting her John Hancock on all kinds of merchandise and photos.

6. 

   As an animal lover, the actress made sure all proceeds from the raffle went to two animal rescue nonprofits she holds very dear.
