Man killed in hit-and-run on Route 390 in Gates identified
Monroe County sheriff's deputies have identified the man killed late Tuesday in a hit-and-run crash on Route 390 in Gates. Daniel Burke, 63, of Rochester was pronounced dead at the scene, on the northbound lanes of Route 390, just north of Exit 21 at Lyell Avenue, said sheriff's spokeswoman Amy Young. The crash occurred just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Former Blossom Road Pub will become a soccer bar with a new name
Dan Zambito and John Bourgeois enjoy hanging out, going out for drinks and watching soccer games. Now they are teaming up to open a soccer bar in the former home to Blossom Road Pub, which closed at the corner of North Winton and Blossom Roads in the North Winton Village last year. The bar will get a new name before it opens in the fall.

N.Y. Gov. Hochul announces $352K for this Staten Island organization to fight food insecurity
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Various organizations working to combat food insecurity throughout New York, including one here on Staten Island, are getting a major boost in funding. On Thursday, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that $7.6 million has been allocated to a dozen food service organizations throughout the state as part of the New York Food for New York Families program, which helps connect local farmers with organizations working to address hunger in underserved communities.
