Heatwave to Leave Several Customers in North Bay Without Power (But Not Sonoma County)
The incoming heatwave could cause a lot of stress to the grid. The potential Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event is anticipated to begin early Tuesday morning and could last through Wednesday. It affects approximately 12,000 customers, including two tribal governments, in targeted parts of eight counties. In the North Bay, it would be 49 customers in Lake County and 9 in Napa, so 58 total. 96 customers in Solano County may also lose power.
PG&E outage leaves hundreds in Fairfield without power
FAIRFIELD, Calif. — A PG&E power outage in Solano County has thousands of customers without power during the start of a heat wave Tuesday. The outage was reported to PG&E around 3:35 p.m. Fairfield city officials say a transformer blew and sparked a vegetation fire behind the 500 block of Union Avenue, but fire crews are putting it out. PG&E says a "failed connection on a pole" caused the outage.
