Hannah Petersen wins 105 ribbons at Clearwater County Fair
BAGLEY - After entering about 100 items, Hannah Petersen of Laporte took home 105 ribbons from the Clearwater County Fair. As a 17-year-old, Petersen qualified in both the Adult and Junior categories, allowing her to enter more of her art. She also had art in the Original Arts building, where one piece received the Superintendent's Award and another an Honorable Mention.
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AND NIGHT TO UNITE HAPPENING THIS EVENING
(Bemidji, MN) — This year’s National Night Out Event for Beltrami County is this evening. There will be free food, games, and an opportunity to meet and engage with first responders from the Bemidji Police Department, Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Community Resources Connections, United Way, and Headwaters Regional Development Commission. This is a family friendly event in the field between the Boys & Girls Club and J.W. Smith Elementary in Bemidji from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. this evening.

The recent unveiling of three new veterans homes in Minnesota could set a new standard for small-home model design of veterans’ homes in the future. The completion and dedication of the new facilities, located in the communities of Montevideo, Preston and Bemidji, marks the first time three major homes have been built simultaneously, setting a new standard for veteran care facilities nationwide, according to Wold Architects and Engineers, the project’s lead architects.
