(WHTM) — A Midstate college is looking to sell almost 30 acres of its land.

“So, we’re super excited,” said Dr. Linda Fedrizzi-Williams, the President of Central Penn College.

Fedrizzi-Williams tells abc27 News, the school is looking to sell unused acres of land on and off campus.

“We are seeing who in the community wants to be a partner and help us develop our campus,” Fedrizzi-Williams added. “That could be anything from leasing our space on campus or helping us develop some of our underutilized property. We’re doing this to provide more experiential opportunities for our students so our business students can have more entrepreneurship experience.”

It’s not just about the money.

‘One-of-a-kind’ dinosaur-experienced event coming to the Midstate; Here’s when

“There’s 22 acres on one side of the road and about five acres on the other side of the road that they are hoping will be developed into possibly housing, possibly some office use, possibly medical use,” said Garrett Rothman, a Real Estate Broker with RSR Realtors.

Fedrizzi-Williams says conversations about selling this land started throughout the last year.

“And we are getting a lot of attention already,” Fedrizzi-Williams added. “And I’m hoping that the ones specifically lined with our business and health care programs are the ones that come forward. Students want more opportunities. The more hands-on experience they get in the classroom.”

Fedrizzi-Williams says anyone interested in the land should contact RSR Realtors.

“Our goal is to make sure that it’s a win win so that whoever does develop these properties is going to benefit from it,” said Rothman. “But also, that it’s going to enhance the student life and the campus life for the students and for the employees of the college and also for Somerdale as a whole.”
