MISSOULA, Mont. — Missoula County Animal Control is in urgent need of foster homes for cats and kittens in their facility. They have every age and type of cat and kitten available for foster from newborn kittens, mom and kitten combinations, and even adult cats. Animal control will provide you with the food and supplies needed to ensure you get the best foster experience for yourself and the animal.
USPS opens Big Sky post office
This morning, July 15, the United States Postal Service opened its new post office in Big Sky, the community’s first federally operated post office. The post office is located at 110 Meadow Village Dr., around the corner from the now-retired Big Sky Post Office, which operated for decades under contract with USPS—the old location will keep its P.O. box lobby open through Saturday, July 20, to allow P.O. box-holders to pick up remaining mail.
New Wildfire Ignites Near Lincoln, Montana
The Montana DNR informed us that the Dalton Fire near Lincoln was spread to just 44 acres and already had a 75 percent containment. "The fire did not grow during the night and showed favorable behavior - the change in acreage is due to new GIS measurement of the fire's perimeter." said the release.

Security footage confirmed that an unauthorized male gained entry and subsequently stole products from the company. The unknown male left behind red paint on various items throughout the store.

Haze in Jackson Hole coming from wildfires in Idaho, Oregon and Montana
JACKSON, Wyo. — For those wondering where the haze that’s settled in Jackson Hole is coming from, the answer is wildfires to the west of the valley. The smoke from several large wildfires blazing in eastern Oregon, central Idaho and southern Montana is blowing east and settling in the valley, according to Brett McDonald, Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Riverton, Wyoming.
