    Woman Arrested After Attacking Patient at Somers Rehab Facility

    SOMERS, N.Y. - An employee of The Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center has been charged with physically attacking a disabled resident, state police said.

    Jossette F. Thompson, 51, of Dover, was arrested on June 11 and charged with Endangering the Welfare of an Incompetent or Physically Disabled Person, a Class E felony, police said.

    She was arraigned in Somers Town Court, released on her own recognizance, and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday, July 22.

    "Thank God, the patient is fine," Paramount Administrator Mark Badolato said Monday, calling the alleged incident "extremely unfortunate" and adding that the employee "has been terminated."
