Troopers were called to a residence in Somers just after midnight after receiving reports of two people engaged in an altercation.

After arriving, officers found the victim injured outside the home and the suspect barricade inside. The suspect was later identified as Andres Mendoza Gomez and was removed from the residence without injury. An investigation found that he allegedly attacked the victim with a knife, resulting in several lacerations.

The victim was transported to Westchester Medical Center for treatment and Mendoza Gomez was transported for evaluation. Following Mendoza Gomez’s release, he was arrested and brought to Somers Town Court for arraignment where the Honorable Judge Michael McDermott remanded him to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $2,500 bond.
