Rotary Club of Somerset named District 7305 Large Club of the Year

The Rotary Club of Somerset has been named District 7305 Large Club of the Year. This honor recognizes the club’s significant contributions and dedicated service to the community during the past 12 months.

The Rotary Club of Somerset's year included a $10,000 District Grant project at Somerset Lake that leveraged a matching portion from the district. Eight benches, four planters, a new welcome sign, and landscaping at the roundabout were installed. The club started an EarlyAct Club and helped to organize a Rotary Third Grade Spelling Bee at Eagle View Elementary, in addition to various other volunteer projects throughout the community. The club also gives out tens of thousands of dollars in donations to other charitable projects and causes that help the community each year.

The club averages between 95-100 members during a calendar year, which is typically the largest in the district, which includes clubs from Pittsburgh.

"It was my honor and privilege to be the 2023-24 president of the Rotary Club of Somerset. Our members truly take the motto 'Service above Self' to heart. They are caring, compassionate and dedicated to making our community and world a better place," Amy Baglio, now past president, said.
