Response to transformation of former industrial site in Somerville 'extremely positive'

SOMERVILLE – The first townhome apartments are being rented in the newest residential community to open in Somerville.

Kirby Village, a 174-unit project on the former Baker & Taylor site on Kirby Avenue in the far southeastern corner of the county seat, has completed Phase 1 of the project and the first tenants are beginning to move in.

The one- and two-bedroom apartments, ranging in size from 800 to 1,452 square feet, are available for rent from $2,395 to $3,895.

The townhome-style apartments feature eight different layouts. Each unit has a private entrance, nine-foot ceilings and large windows.

The apartments also include a walk-in closet in select units, a balcony or patio/porch, washer and dryer and a kitchen with quartz countertops and stainless-steel appliances.

The community is pet-friendly with an onsite, fenced dog park, a fully equipped fitness center, kids’ play area, and outdoor heated pool.

TFE Properties, a real estate and land development company based in East Windsor, develops commercial and residential properties in addition to purchasing existing properties. The company’s primary areas of focus include retail centers, single net tenants, hotels, office buildings, apartment complexes and storage facilities.
