Recent findings from inspectors at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) have brought to light further information about the listeria outbreak. According to reports from CBS News, the USDA identified numerous violations at a Boar's Head facility in Virginia, which has been connected to a widespread recall of deli meats. Newly disclosed records from the department indicate that instances of mold, mildew, and insects were frequently detected throughout the premises.

Last month, Boar's Head initiated a recall of all deli meats manufactured at its facility in Jarratt, Virginia, following a listeria outbreak associated with items distributed from that plant. The outbreak has resulted in 57 hospitalizations across more than twelve states, all connected to the recalled products from the Virginia facility.

Furthermore, there have been a total of eight confirmed fatalities associated with the recent outbreak, with some of the deaths attributed to cases in Florida, Tennessee, New Mexico, and South Carolina that have emerged in the past few days.
