The U.S. Marshals Service has warned against fraudulent individuals who pretend to be U.S. Marshals, court officers, or other law enforcement personnel. To appear legitimate, the scammers employ tactics such as providing badge numbers, names of actual officials and judges, and courthouse addresses. They also spoof government phone numbers to make it seem like they call from official agencies or courts.

Caught on Camera: Surveillance Photos Released in Wheaton 7-Eleven Armed Robbery
Montgomery County Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying suspects in an armed robbery on March 19 at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Wheaton. According to an MCPD press release, two individuals entered the 7-Eleven store in the 11400 block on Georgia Avenue at around 12:08 a.m. One of the suspects approached an employee while pointing a handgun at them and demanded money from the cash registers. Meanwhile, the other suspect stood by the side door, keeping watch. Once the employee opened the registers, the armed suspect took out the cash drawers. The amount of money taken is currently unknown. The armed suspect handed one of the drawers to his accomplice, and both suspects quickly fled the scene.
