Police: Two Wanted for Bonifant Street Homicide
Montgomery County Police are seeking assistance in locating two men wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in downtown Silver Spring on March 5. D’Andre Lukes, 21, and D’Angelo Holley, 23, are suspected of being involved in the shooting death of Deandre Keith Ellis, who was killed outside of the Sweet Sweet Kitchen restaurant in the 900 block of Bonifant Street.
Gigi Mac Band to Headline Tribute to America’s Veterans Concert
An evening of tribute to America’s veterans will be headlined by the Brazilian bossa nova group Gigi Mac Band on Wednesday. Major General (ret.) Richard W. Thomas will be the keynote speaker at the free 15th Annual ‘Tribute to America’s Veterans Concert’ on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at American Legion Post 41, Cissel-Saxon, in downtown Silver Spring.
HouseMouse Books & Vintage Opens Escape Room
A limited-run escape room experience based on a real crime has opened at HouseMouse Books & Vintage in Takoma Park. Escape the Bookshop II is a unique group puzzle game “that is based on a real crime that took place in Takoma Park around 130 years ago, designed and created by HouseMouse to be played in our atmospheric little bookshop,” owner Orly Keiner said in an email to the Source. “This is not your typical corporate escape room and makes for a memorable evening out with friends or family.”
Police: 1 Dead, 1 Critically Injured in White Oak Shooting
Montgomery County Police are looking for a suspect involved in a shooting in White Oak on Saturday evening that left one man dead and another critically injured. According to MCPD, 3rd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the America’s Best Wings restaurant in the 11200 block of New Hampshire Ave. at approximately 5:51 p.m. Saturday. When officers arrived, they found two adult male victims with apparent gunshot wounds.

Police: 12-Year-Old Missing Since October 18
Montgomery County Police are seeking the public’s assistance in finding 12-year-old Xavier Munoz-Dasilva, who has been missing since October 18. Munoz-Dasilva was last seen at midnight on October 18 near the 8000 block of 13th St. in downtown Silver Spring, according to an MCPD news release. He is 5’2″, weighs 90 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing all-black clothing.
Montgomery Parks Seeks Public Comment on Jesup Blair Park Renovation
Montgomery Parks is conducting an online survey to gain community input on the Jesup Blair Park renovation. Located 900 Jesup Blair Drive near the District line, Jesup Blair Park is bounded by Georgia Avenue, CSX/transit railroad tracks, Blair Road, and Jesup Blair Drive. Jesup Blair Park is downtown Silver Spring’s largest park at 15 acres. Jesup Blair House and the entire park are part of the county’s Master Plan for Historic Preservation; a separate project is underway for finding a tenant and renovating the historic residence.
