Valmet to Exclusively Supply Fiber Tech for Spinnova

Spinnova has named machinery manufacturer Valmet as the exclusive partner to supply fiber processing equipment to the Adidas collaborator’s technology customers—doubling down on the belief that technology sales are the “most valuable driver for rapid cash generation,” chair of the board and co-founder of the company Janne Poranen said in Spinnova’s 2023 annual report.

Spinnova, Ecco Commit to Scaling Joint Venture, Respin

Spinnova and Valmet first partnered in 2021 , when the natural fiber company and wood pulp producer partner, Suzano , broke ground on their joint venture smart factory in Finland, in which Valmet supplied the drying technology for the Woodspin venture.

Now, the two Finnish firms will continue collaborating to lower Spinnova technology’s capital and operational costs and enhance its competitiveness.

The exclusivity is limited in time and scope, per the agreement, and includes an exclusivity fee based on realized project deliveries. Spinnova, however, said it doesn’t expect this to have a “material impact” on its 2024 financials .
